Deep in the Central Otago high country during the 1870’s, the proprietor of the Cardrona General Store, with the help of his sons, became renowned for his generous four pound loaf of bread.  The famous loaf sold for four pence to the local settlers, who appreciated the hearty goodness it provided both them and their families. Weighing an impressive two pounds (that’s 915g in today’s language), MacKenzie Original White is baked in the same spirit, and typifies MacKenzie bread.  A big, bold hearty white loaf, densely full of flavour and goodness, this two-pound loaf is perfect toasted, or loaded up with your favourite chunky fillings.
